The Australian government has recently announced a $25,000 Home Builder grant to eligible owner-occupiers (including first home buyers) to build new home that is less than $750,000 (including land).
This is an excellent news to those who want to get into home ownership now. With historically low interest rate resulting in mortgage repayment being similar to the rental payment in certain areas; it is no better time than now to get into home ownership.
For the first home owners, they will also get the $10,000 First Home Owner Grant for new building on top of the stamp duty exemption. This means the total benefits could exceed $55,000 to build a new home.
