The air conditioner has ice forming inside the unit

The air conditioner has ice forming inside the unit

Sometimes when an air conditioner stops working or is noticeably struggling, it is likely dust and dirt collect creates a blockage, which stops the unit from ‘breathing’. The result of this is the formation of ice inside the air conditioner.

  1. Switch off the unit for a few hours to let the ice melt completely. Depending on your air conditioner, you may want to move furniture from underneath it and put a towel or bucket down to collect any water that melts off.

The air conditioner is not working at all

If an air conditioner won’t turn on,

  1. Check the batteries in your remote control.
  2. Check the main electrical junction box if any circuit breaker or safety switch has been tripped. Switch it back on again and see if your air conditioner works again. If not, report and email to our maintenance team at maintenance@shinerealestate.com.au

 

The air conditioner is making a loud banging noise

Air conditioner makes loud (sometimes deafening) banging or wailing noises. If this happens, you should switch off the air conditioner and report and email to our maintenance team at maintenance@shinerealestate.com.au
